Contemporary Christianity and its lack of fear of the LORD

Do you not fear Me? says the LORD. Will you not tremble at My presence, who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it? And though its waves toss to and fro, yet they cannot prevail; though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it. But this people has a defiant and rebellious heart; They have revolted and departed. They do not say in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season. He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest. Your iniquities have turned these things away, and your sins have withheld good from you. For among My people are found wicked men; they lie in wait as one who sets snares; they set a trap; they catch men. As a cage is full of birds, so their houses are full of deceit. Therefore they have become great and grown rich. They have grown fat, they are sleek; yes, they surpass the deeds of the wicked; They do not plead the cause, the cause of the fatherless; yet they prosper, and the right of the needy they do not defend. Shall I not punish them for these things? says the LORD. Shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this? An astonishing and horrible thing Has been committed in the land: The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule by their own power; and My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end? (Jer. 5:22–31 NKJV)

The other day in one of the Christian newspapers one of the Editor’s had written (you can view it here in Swedish) about how a land that has deserted the LORD and his justice, judgments and precepts can be punished by the LORD. He asked the very true question: Does Sweden’s rebellion against God has anything to do with the lawlessness we are seeing every day in Sweden, with the lawless deeds our country never before has seen. Could this be because we as a country and Christianity for decades has thrown God and His commandments behind our back? This question caused an outcry in the Swedish Christianity. You see, in Swedish Christianity God only spectate the world, unless some prophet forces God to do a miracle, and the same God talks to them at every second. I have never heard so many, “God told me,” “I prayed to God and was given an exception by Jesus,” “You can take up my calling with Jesus, he has granted me as a woman to preach,” and so on. This God He only spectate the world if He is not forced to intervene because of someone of the little gods of Swedish Christianity demands action; and God cannot judge the world, especially not Sweden, which is the conscience of the world, with haughty eyes and its nose high up (that goes both for the country and its Christianity).

God is asking Jerusalem, “Do you not fear Me?” The Creator of the world. They had revolted and departed from the only true God, and what was the result? Everything went badly because of their rebellion. You see, God gives the example how He has put boundaries in his creation that the sea cannot pass beyond, He has in the same way put down laws, rules, commandments unto man that he shall not pass beyond. But the people had a defiant and rebellious heart, and the leadership instead of admonishing the people to fear the LORD revolted and departed together with the people.

“Your iniquities have turned these things away, and your sins have withheld good from you. For among My people are found wicked men; they lie in wait as one who sets snares; they set a trap; they catch men. As a cage is full of birds, so their houses are full of deceit. Therefore they have become great and grown rich. They have grown fat, they are sleek; yes, they surpass the deeds of the wicked; they do not plead the cause, the cause of the fatherless; yet they prosper, and the right of the needy they do not defend.” And since they did not fear the LORD, the Creator of the heavens and the earth; but not only that there was also wicked men that trapped man with deceit and falsehood. And since the Swedish Christianity does not preach or teach the whole counsel of God are they robbing its members of the truth, and they are robbing the people of Sweden of the truth. They have instead grown fat and they “shine” says KJV. Swedish Christianity has exchanged the truth of God for worldly lies. They even surpass the deeds of the wicked in some cases. They deny God.

You see, another so-called Christian newspaper in Sweden get hold of that article and one of their Editor which at the same time is a theologian, so he should at least have read the Bible once had to write an article to make the other paper to repent of its superstition because what they said could not be found in the Bible but only be called superstitious (you can read it here in Swedish). You see Swedish Christianity denies both God’s providence and His eternal decree. The Editor asks if they follow the same logic as in the first article, that God is using Putin to punish the nation? The Editor says that this kind of article will mislead people.

The Westminster Confession of Faith states (WCF 3.1):

God from all eternity did, by the most wise (Rom. 11:33) and holy counsel of His own will, freely (Rom. 9:15, Rom. 9:18), and unchangeably (Heb. 6:17) ordain whatsoever comes to pass (Eph. 1:11): yet so, as thereby neither is God the author of sin (Jas. 1:13, Jas. 1:17; 1 John 1:5), nor is violence coffered to the will of the creatures (Matt. 17:12; Acts 2:23; Acts 4:27–28); nor is the liberty or contingency of second causes taken away, but rather established (John 19:11; Prov. 16:33).

That would mean that the war we are seeing now is ordained by God in is wisdom. It does not say, however, that it must be judgment from God. But it is also clear that punishment for sin, rebellion and forsaking the covenant as described in the OT must be seen as examples for us and that the same can happen to us if we continue in our sins, rebellion and forsaking God and his commandments, if we in hardness of heart being stiffnecked judging God like we know better than him, saying what he can and cannot do according to our worldly wisdom. Who are we to judge God. Are we wise as him, are we omnipotent as him, are we omniscient as him, are we gods? What WCF states above the leader of the Pentecostal Movement in Sweden calls superstitious. His track record is not the best, defending much of what the Lord forbids (for example women preachers, that the apostate archbishop should attend their yearly week at Nyhem to impart unto them her worldly wisdom). You see, God has promised in his Word that “all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Rom. 8:28), and Paul is continuing this theme of God’s purpose in the Epistle to the Ephesians that God brings everything to pass, because of God’s purpose, He “works all things according to the counsel of His will” (Eph. 1:11). When king Nebuchadnezzar has his dream that if he does not humble himself before Almighty God he shall be driven out from men and dwell with the beasts, that is called “the decree of the Most High” (Dan. 4:24), already before Daniel has had to inform the king, “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding” (Dan. 2:20–21). But God’s prophet Daniel who was given tremendous insight into God’s decree and providence for the whole world and its end time, his view would the Pentecostal leader in Sweden call superstitious. I wonder what part of God’s Word we can believe in according to him and the Christian newspaper without being reproved and called fools, since what we believe is superstition. We must have missed something. Where is the paper that lets us know what part of Scripture we can believe in a literal way and what part we must have their help to clearly interpret and understand? So that we do not handle ourselves as fools and do not understand when the Bible describes a cultural phenomenon, or when it contains God’s truth. Who in the Swedish Christianity can help me with that. Someone would have already made an excel where we can view verse by verse and its explanation: meaningless because of cultural or historical aspect; true because it validates our theology and belief; read as… Where can we find this? It would be a tremendous help, lest we tread on any toes.

One of the things in Swedish Christianity that shows their disdain and disregard for God’s Word is regarding women pastors, and they usually put forward Gal. 3:28 as one single verse that validates their belief. That verse has already destroyed complementarianism, they believe, so that the only valid point left is to embrace egalitarianism. Which is not a biblical position. Why do they not read Gal. 3:28 in context? It has to do to with justification by faith, and this was promised to Abraham even before the law was given to the people of Israel, it has nothing to with female pastors. If we are one in Christ, then are we of Abraham’s seed, and if we are of Abraham’s seed then are we heirs according to the promise God gave to Abraham. And Pauls direct prohibition from 1 Tim. 2:12–15 is based on the order of creation they deny, it was cultural, they say. So then is marriage also cultural, male and female cultural, sanctity of life cultural? All of it based on the order of creation by God. They read the Scripture with very spotted glasses. They do not believe that Scripture is God’s Word, they believe that God’s Word contains His ideas, written down by people, the Bible is not completely true. That is a big difference.

Judah had rebelled agents the LORD and departed from Him, and they did not follow the commandments of the LORD, they did not defend the right of the needy or the cause of the fatherless, yet they prospered. The LORD asks rhetorically: “Shall I not punish them for these things? says the LORD. Shall I not avenge Myself on such a nation?” (Jer. 5:29). Because something horrible and astonishing had happened, “The prophets prophecy falsely, and the priests rule by their own power, and my people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?” (Jer. 5:30–31). This is what we see today, there is prophecy, false prophecy in the churches. They are not sent of God yet they prophecy in rebellion. The priests or pastors rule by their own power, authority, means, they do not ask God or His Word, because God’s Word is full of things that are cultural to Corinth in AD 55, or to Israel in 700 BC, it is superstitious to believe that any of these things have anything to do with us today, even if Paul said that everything was written as examples for us. But it is clear that their knowledge has puffeth them up, and that they know nothing of what they ought to know, and I ask earnestly, are they known by Him?

To sum it up. It is clear that the leadership of the Swedish Christianity are apostate, nothing of the past does still exists, once it was faithful to the Lord, today they are faithful to the world and its philosophies.

My heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, because of the LORD, and because of His holy words. For the land is full of adulterers; for because of a curse the land mourns. The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up. Their course of life is evil, and their might is not right. For both prophet and priest are profane; yes, in My house I have found their wickedness, says the LORD (Jer 23:9–11 NKJV).
